Before I begin, let me start by saying I did not set my kitchen on fire nor was smoke coming out of my oven at any point. This is the easiest way to bake bacon in the oven. I have tried multiple times to cover the baking sheet with countless (I might be exaggerating) aluminum foil but NOTHING stops the grease from sneaking its way and making my life impossible when it comes to cleaning afterwards.
Hence, the paper towels. It soaks up the grease as it cooks and get this…NO messy baking sheet afterwards. All you have to do is place the wire rack in a soap filled sink and let it soak for a bit before you wash it or even place it in the dishwasher.
You start by covering a baking sheet with aluminum foil and then place paper towels right on top.
Then you place the bacon on top of the wire rack. Here is an awesome glazed bacon recipe.
Once the bacon is cooked, take it out and notice how your kitchen is not set on fire….
TADA! See how all the grease is on the paper towels?
No mess, no fuss. You’re welcome.
