Hi there! I’m a wife, mommy, writer, foodie, and crafty Cuban-American that’s Disney obsessed, and over organized. Interesting mix, right? It means my life is never boring. My brain is in constant motion on how to create (or reinvent) ideas revolving around our family and tasty food. I almost have it down to a science…
That’s what The Domestic Engineer is all about. Engineers (of every type) are constantly developing solutions or reinventing the wheel with what they are given. That’s me in a nutshell.
I’m a mommy to a beautiful, rambunctious little girl, who is already trying to out smart me and our second gorgeous baby girl that recently came into our lives. Autumn, our Labrador is her best friend and probably the only normal one in the family. When my oldest daughter was born I left my career to be with her, while it’s something I never expected do, I’m thankful and grateful I have the opportunity. Which means I continuously need to think of ways to entertain her. Sensory bins are a lifesaver for us and the possibilities are endless! If you haven’t tried this with your little ones, their expressions alone are worth it.
My loving, very patient, and always supportive husband consistently listens to my ambitious ideas. I drive him crazy with my constant need to organize anything (or everything) in our house. He’s the best taste-tester (never complains) and tries everything I make aaaaand he does the dishes! I would say he’s a keeper. We rarely go out alone so we try and plan easy (and sometimes corny) date nights at home. The date night jar is an easy fix and a great way for you and your significant other to spend some time together.
I am Cuban American and yes, the saying is true…I talk too loud (and with my hands), I’m always laughing and will elaborate (or exaggerate) stories. I have yet to meet a boring Cuban.
I write a lot about food because it’s AWESOME. Food has been a story in my life for as long as I can remember…all the way back to when my grandparents owned a famous bakery in Cuba.
After having our oldest daughter, I wanted to write down my thoughts, our adventures, ideas, and recipes. One day when our girls reads this, I want them to feel inspired just like they continuously inspire me everyday. More importantly, I want them to see just how much their parents love each other and how they’re our crazy little blessings. Hope you have fun reading my crazy antics 🙂
